GRAPE VARIETY : 10% Pinot Noir, 90% Chardonnay
VINEYARD: Côte des Blancs: one Pinot Noir (Premier Cru) parcel from Vertus at mid-hill and 13 parcels
at hilltop, mid-hill and at the bottom of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger as well as a mid-hill parcel in Oger. Vineyards
cultivated sustainably.
SOIL: Clay-limestone. 40-metre-thick chalk formed in the tertiary period.
YEAR: Blend of 7 to 10% Red Wine from Vertus. 90-93% White Wine from Le Mesnil that itself is a
blend of 30% 2011 to 2001 reserve wine and 70% 2012 wine. Bottling in March 2013.
PRESSING METHOD: Starfenberger horizontal automatic press.
AGEING: Traditional: 6 months in thermo-regulated stainless steel or resin epoxy tanks then aged in
Champenoise bottles in our cellars for at least 3 years, at a constant 12°C, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
ALCOHOL: 12%
DOSAGE: Brut 1% (approximately 7g of sugar per L)
BOTTLING: 750ml bottles and 1.5L Magnums with a Mytic Diamant cork (no cork taint)
TASTING NOTES: This champagne has an old rose colour with amber streaks. Its nose is of tangy red
fruits: fruity, floral and spicy. Its texture is silky and refreshing. On the palate it is structured and
drenched in fruit. Perfect for beginning the evening as an aperitif and finishing the bottle at the dinner
table.
FOOD & WINE PAIRING: Red fruit salad with Rosé Champagne jelly.
